The Balearic Islands is a group of islands located in a privileged place in the Mediterranean, just 75 km from the "Iberian península" and thanks to its temperate climate many sunny days a year.
The Balearic Islands are formed by Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera, and all of them are full of history: the first clear evidence of stable population goes back to III millennium a. C. Its cities and towns have a Mediterranean architecture very similar to Italy. And its dream beaches have witnessed countless shootings.
The great advantage of flim production in the Balearic Islands is that in an area of less than 5,000 km2 you can find amazing locations, such as the "Serra de Tramontana" which is declared World Heritage by UNESCO in the Cultural Landscape section.
This natural spot is one of the favorites of Estrella Damm to shoot their ads. In fact, last year they shot an advertisement wich had a luxury cast, with Jean Reno and Laia Costa, and directed by Alberto Rodríguez.
Another point in favor is that filming in the Balearic Islands is easier than you might imagine, since all the coordination of locations and permits of filming can be done through Illes Balears Film Commission. This entity is responsible and the guide for the technical team in both procedures, preproduction and production, so they could work in the easiest ways getting the best results.
On the other hand, there are economic aids that facilitate taxiing, as well as tax incentives to foreign countries. In short, Balearic Islands remains the perfect stage to continue shooting good cinema.
