Arri Operator Control Unit OCU-1 hire. The OCU-1 allows control of EF lenses mounted on ALEXA Mini and AMIRA cameras without additional external motors. Small, lightweight and easy to use, it has the same control wheel and display and LBUS integration as the ARRI Master Grips. With its flexible mounting options, it can be easily mounted on common 15mm or 19mm rods, an ARRI rosette or 3/8" mounts. The wheel can also be used to control the roll axis of the ARRI SRH-3 Remote Stabilized Head.

The OCU-1 Operator Control Unit is a complement to the ALEXA Mini's WCU-4 lens control system and gives camera operators full control of their lenses when desired. Fitting into a long tradition of ARRI innovation, the OCU-1 will improve efficiency and control on set.
The OCU-1 allows operators to override and return focus, iris, and zoom controls at the touch of a button. With its three assignable user buttons and a finger wheel, the camera operator will always have the ability to control the lens, even when motors are attached. This will help camera operators save time while framing a shot or making adjustments when the focus is slightly off.
The OCU-1 override is indicated on the WCU-4's display and allows the focuser to smoothly resume control without the motor jumping.
The union of these two cameras with a set of EF lenses gives us the option of not needing motors to operate them. By simply connecting the OCU-1 to our camera via an EXT/LBUS cable, we will have control of the lens parameters. We can place the OCU-1 where it is more comfortable for us at the time of operating.
When working with ARRI camera, everything becomes easier. We simply connect the OCU-1 in rental to the camera via LBUS/D-tap and connect the mini in cascade from the camera also via LBUS. In this case, the camera acts as a radio transmitter to connect to the rental WCU-4 controller. And the OCU-1 serves as an extra controller in case the operator wants to manage one of the motors or wants to make any correction on any of them, as it has a function that cancels the management from the WCU-4 to take full control over the motor you select.
In this example we are not working with ARRI camera, so we need to connect and power both the motors and the OCU-1 through a box, so we will use the UMC-4. In this case we are going to control the motors with a rental WCU-4 and in the camera we will place the OCU-1 so that the operator has access to make adjustments. We connect each motor individually to the UMC-4 and also the OCU-1. We connect the UMC-4 to the camera and the circuit are ready. The UMC-4 box is used for distribution and connection of the OCU-1 and the CLM-4 with camera and optics.
The OCU-4 can independently manage one of the motors, and also if necessary it can cancel the management of a motor by the WCU-4 to take control and make the changes from the OCU-1.
