The UMC-4 universal motor controller is an advanced 3-axis system. Up to three different hand units can be connected to the UMC-4 at the same time, controlling the focus, iris and zoom on any camera. Its intuitive interface helps to quickly configure the system. The high quality outdoor antenna offers enhanced durability, more reliable and longer range radio connectivity.
ARRI UMC-4 Lens data: The Arri UMC-4 Controller incorporates the LDS lens data file and generates accurate lens data for any purpose. The lens data is used for the assignment of lenses to the previously marked focus rings and the visualization of the depth of field in the WCU-4 manual unit. It allows focus tracking by configuring the motor to continuously track a subject by using a Cinetape UMD-1 meter. For VFX tasks, the UMC-4 records lens data with timecode, which helps to match exactly the virtual lens with which it was shot.
ARRI UMC-4 Timecode
The UMC-4 supports an internal and external timecode that is recorded with lens data and frame accuracy on SD card, making the lens data able to be used for post-production. The internal time code clock can be synchronized through an external device, but they can also issue LTC time code

The UMC-4 includes multiple interfaces for maximum flexibility in the studio.
Two serial interfaces connect peripheral equipment such as ARRI UDM-1 distance measurement or motion control systems.
Optional connector modules interact directly with the focus and zoom demands of Fujifilm and Canon.
Ethernet connector integrates the UMC-4 with standard equipment, allowing Ethernet-based system control and remote access to the lens data on the SD card.
