WHICH LOCATIONS DOES VALENCIA OFFER?

  • The city has a great cultural and artistic heritage that has grown throughout its history. Its historic quarter is accessible for filming or film shooting, and has a large area with many churches. The gothic style Valencia’s Cathedral has also Baroque, Neoclassical and Renaissance elements. The bell tower is known as "El Miguelete". The "Basílica de la Virgen", the "Real Parroquia de los Santos Juanes", the "Iglesia de Santa Catalina Mártir" or the "Monasterio de San Miguel de los Reyes" (current headquarters for the city's Library) are some of the places with a special architectural interest. The "Lonja de la Seda" is a Gothic style masterpiece that has been declared a World Heritage Site by the Unesco.

  • There are also earlier filming sites, ideal for your historic film shooting: "The Torres de Serranos" and "Torres de Quart", two of the twelve entrance gates of the old Medieval City Walls. Valencia’s bullfighting ring, in neoclassical style, is one of the biggest bullfighting rings in Spain. The "Estación del Norte", "Plaza Redonda", "Palacio del Marqués de Dos Aguas", "Mercado Central" or the "Palacio de Justicia", are other interesting places for the filming of your film shooting. Around the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, is the modern part of the city with a lot of green areas.

  • Valencia also has natural filming spaces, with special landscapes and ecological relevance. The "Albufera Natural Park" is located about 10km south of the city, it spreads over an area of 20.000 hectares and it is a space with special relevance for migratory birds. The marshlands of "Rafalell" and "Vistabella" is a wetland marsh full of reed beds which serve as a refuge for many bird species. Unique spots for your film shooting. In Valencia there are two urban beaches: "Playa de las Arenas" and "Playa de la Malvarrosa". Both have a wide promenade where you can find many hotels and restaurants. CLIMATE IN VALENCIA

  • With a mediterranean climate, summers are dry and hot and winters are mild and low rainfall. The average annual temperature is 18º C and the average annual rainfall is around 500mm, mostly in September and October. The relative humidity is high due to the influence of the mediterranean sea.

VALENCIA'S INFRASTRUCTURES

  • Valencia has a high quality transport infrastructure. The A-3 highway connects Madrid with Valencia. The A-7 connects the whole Mediterranean coastline, from Algeciras to Madrid. Moreover, there are other radial and city ring roads like the V-21, V-31 or the CV-30 that facilitate the movement between the city and the metropolitan area. Ideal for transportation during your film shooting. The "Manises" airport is 8km away from Valencia. It has connections with most of the Spanish cities, the main European capitals, the north of Africa and New York. A new terminal is being built. Valencia’s harbor offers regular boat trips to "Formentera", "Ibiza", "Mahón" and "Palma de Mallorca".

  • There are also high speed trains to Madrid, Cuenca and Albacete. Other trains connect Valencia with "Gandía", "Mogente", "Utiel", "Castellón", "Caudiel" y "Chirivella". The city has 6 metro subway lines, 3 tram lines and a wide bus network that connects the city with the beaches and inland areas.
