RED EPIC DRAGON HIRE - RENTAL

The Epic Dragon rental - hire camera has the 19.4 Megapixel DRAGON CMOS sensor, with a maximum working area of ​​6144 x 3160 pixels in an area of ​​30.7mm (width) x 15.8mm (height), re-emerging in a diagonal 34.5mm. This sensor has been developed to achieve high resolutions, and it provides a dynamic range of 16.5 stops. It has an incredibly versatile sensor: 2.4: 1 in 6K RAW or in Full Frame through captures in anamorphic format in 5K RAW. There are few things the DRAGON cannot do. Epic Dragon - Recording formats. The main recording format in Red cameras is the REDCODE. This file extension effectively encodes the digital sensor measurements of the camera itself, maximizing post-production capabilities. The system designed by RED stores each color channel in the sensor separately, which allows a tremendous amount of information to be modified later. However, as expected, this kind of file so rich in information is also tremendously heavy in terms of storage, so the Epic DRAGON camera allows you to apply compression to the file that varies between 2: 1 and 22: 1, allowing to choose the precise balance between quality and file weight. Among the other formats offered by the Epic Dragon, it also gives the possibility to roll in RAW from 12 to 16 bits. Also in anamorphic format (1.3x and 2x) in any of the available resolutions.
Depending on the image format you choose, the Epic Dragon hire Camera provides different maximum frame rates:
  • 100fps at full resolution 6K, 2.4: 1
  • 120fps at resolutions of 5K, 2.4: 1, and 96fps 5K, Full Frame
  • 150fps at resolutions of 4K, 2.4: 1
  • 200fps at 3K resolutions, 2.4: 1
  • Maximum frame rate from 300fps to 2K, 2.4: 1

In terms of basic reproduction speeds of the project, it allows choosing several predetermined frame rates: 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97, 47.98, 50, 59.94, and 60fps (regardless of the chosen resolution).

Epic hire camera - Color, sound, monitoring, and remote control. The Epic Dragon hire camera can manage 3D LUTs and HDR live thanks to the RedCast module, which allows the already processed signal's viewing to see the result of the shot directly on the monitor; the signal could also be broadcast if the production needed it.

The Epic Dragon hire camera also has two uncompressed audio channels, 24-bit at 48 kHz. It gives us the option of having 4 channels with the AES3 or AES / EBU interface, designed to transmit 4 real-time audio signals without any compression.

The monitoring options are very diverse. The RED Epic Dragon hire camera gives us the possibility to use modules with DSMC2 connection to provide the inputs and outputs that each occasion requires, connecting the relevant device directly to the back of the body. We can find power interface pins (DC IN), HDMI, 3G-SDI (HD-SDI), CTRL, timecode and Genlock ports. There are different monitoring options for the Epic Dragon: RED Touch 4.7 "LCD, RED Touch 9.0", RED Touch 5.0 ", RED PRO 7.0" or RED Touch 7.0 "(compatible with Lemo DSMC2 connections the camera incorporates); and we'll also find a port for a "B" adapter cable, and a LCD / EVF port.
