The Zeiss Super Speed T 1.3 MKIII lens set is the third generation of the world famous lenses by the german brand, which slightly improves the features of their ancestors, the MKII. One of them is the mechanics, since the focus rings have marks on both sides and more spin. Available also the 65mm.

The Zeiss Super Speed MKIII T 1.3 is the evolution born from a decade of experience by the german brands Zeiss and Arri, very similar to the previous series, but with sensitive improvements.
They feature high speed, great sharpness and contrast. Being the ancestor of sets such as the Ultraprime and Master Prime and the same iris and focus ring system as the MKII with 7 blades.
The first version was firstly issued in the middle of the 70s, firstly with the older bayonnet mount and then with the standard PL. One of their main and most characteristic features is their triangle-shaped iris, even though it becomes visible at iris of 2.8 or above. The main flaw of these first versions was the lack of rotation in the focus ring, which was around 180 degrees against the 270 of the MKII and MKIII.
The second and the third version improved this matter, changing the mechanics of the focus ring and adding focus marks on both sides of the lens.
This set also have an extra lens available, the 65mm that shares the same features and top aperture of the rest of the focal range.
Like the MKI and MKII, below T2.8 there is a reasonable loss of both sharpness and contrast and although they have an antiflare bath they become more susceptible to flashes and veils with these diaphragms.
One of the fastest lens set around, with great optical performance, nice bokeh and special texture. Affordable and effective
